TPS57112-Q1: variation of specification

Part Number: TPS57112-Q1

Hi

I would like to know the variation of the following specifications.

 1. Enable threshold : rising Min value

                                   falling Max value

 2. Power good : Output low Max value

If you do not have exactly value, the percentage of variation will be possible as well.

Best Regards,

Koji Hamamoto

  • In addition, they would like to know how much is the variation(Min, Max) of the SS charge current as well.

I am sorry for many question.

  • Hamamoto-san,

We may have characterization data for those EN and PGD thresholds. That can give an estimate of the range but will not be guaranteed, For the SS charge current, please contact me directly as this is a sensitive subject.
  • Hamamoto-san,

I did not due a full analysis as extracting the data would be very time consuming. A quick analysis suggest EN rising threshold should be in the range from 1.16 V to 1.37 V and the falling threshold from 1.12 V to 1.24 V. Since it is not guaranteed anyway, I think this should suffice.

For the PGOOD voltage, that typical value is simply 3 mA times 100 ohm maximum RDSon of the PGOOD FET = 0.3 V. PGOOD RDSon could be as low as 39 ohm.

  • Hi John-san,

    Thank you for the information.
Regarding to SS charge current, I sent the email to you. Please confirm that.

And I have some question about PGOOD pin (Output low). As you mentioned the typical value is calculated by 3mA * 100ohm (not 100m ohm). How about maximum value? (39ohm as you said is the minimum value of Rds?)
In my understanding, the max value is depends on the Ipwrgd which is flow at pulled-up external resistor.
(if Ipwegd is 10mA, the max of low voltage is 100ohm * 10mA=1V.) Is my understanding correct?

  • Hamamoto-san,

Yes you are correct. The PGOOD low level voltage is the pull down current times the RDSon of the internal FET. The minimum value that I saw looking at the characterization data was 39 ohm (not mohm). I'll edit my previous post. Most times when we deal with RDSon specs, it is for the switching FETS, which are in mohm. Muscle memory takes over sometimes when typing.
  • Hi John-san,

    >Most times when we deal with RDSon specs, it is for the switching FETS, which are in mohm. Muscle memory takes over sometimes when typing.

    hahaha.. yeah,I know.

Anyway, thank you for your support.
