LM3940: LM3940(3.3V), LP388585-1.2, LP38512-1.8 regulators issue

Part Number: LM3940

Dear sir/madam,

We are facing problem related to this IC part no LM3940(3.3V), LP388585-1.2, LP38512-1.8 with quiescent current.

Kindly suggest us the alternate part no with same pinout with higher quiescent current.

Thanks & Regards,

Murali

  • Hi Murali,

what problem do you have with the quiescent current?

  • Hi Murali,

LM3940 is an ~20 years old. As such, while performance was competitive when it released, there have been many improvements in the industry since the release date. Today's linear regulators and LDOs have much lower ground current specifications (ground current is the more general term for quiescent current). Please help us better understand the issues that you are facing in your application so that we can better help debug.

    Very Respectfully,
    Ryan
  • Hi Ryan,

We are using these regulators for controller and other supporting circuitry, even when the controller is in sleep mode,

These regulators are consuming more current. Since we have already used these IC in our design so we request you to suggest us the

alternate IC part no. with same pinouts and which consume less current.

    Thanks and regards,

    Murali Prasad

  • Hi Murali,

In order to help identify pin to pin replacements, which package are you using? LM3940 has multiple packages. Please provide the following information:
