ATL432: The definitions in stable

Part Number: ATL432
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL431,

Hi sir:

Q1:I never seen anything about Figure stable  on Regulator.    ex:TL431

Why definitions specifically stable and Unstable for ATL432.

Q2:Why no rules figure 16.Why different from general Figure  14,15,18,19,20. ATL432

Could you explain something to me?

  • Hi Chang,

stability also depends on V(KA). That's why the curves are different.

  • Hi Chang,

Kai is correct, the stability curve of the TL431 and the ATL432 are different. Due to this, they cannot use the same graph. Make sure to use the appropriate graphs for the respective device.
For the ATL432, once you know how much current and voltage are going through Vka you can use the graphs to find out how much CLoad to use.

  • I know features low I(KA) for ATL432.so I(KA) none of curves main reason ?
ATL432 low I(KA) .This will cause ATL432 to expand the area of unstable?
Could you explain why there are unstable areas?
Thank you for the prompt reply
  • Hi Chang,

The low Iq is not the reason for the difference in the shape of the stability curves. The internal architecture of the devices are different and when they were designed they were designed with certain parameters in mind. Due to this, the stability ended up being different.

If you have the need for a shunt voltage reference that is completely stable, the LM4041 family is stable across all voltages and currents while still maintaining a low Iq.
