TPS92518HV: VCC1 & VCC2 parallel configuration

Paralleling two voltage sources tends not to work unless resistors are placed in series with them. The nominal voltage is 7.5V but if one is 7.4V and the other 7.6V the 7.6V will supply all the current.

Although possible to add series ballast resistors, would the voltage drop across the resistors at full load make this solution impractical?
Just looking for creative ways to reduce IC count.

It depends on what full load is and how accurate it needs to be. If you can use lower voltage a few components could create a regulated combinations of the two VCCs. How much current do you plan on needing?

I need to add shunt FET circuits to each channel. I would like to use a two-channel gate drive powered by Vcc1 & Vcc2 in parallel. The input supply current for the gate drive will be 3.5mA <. The typical strobing frequency is 50Hz< (~1% D.C.) . One application requires 2.5KHz strobing frequency(~20% D.C.) so the RMS current is low.

Too bad the TPS92518 does not have internal gate drivers for applications that require shunt FET dimming
