LM9061-Q1: How to calculate RTHRESHOLD for LM9061-Q1

Dear Sir:

                We want to used LM9061-Q1 for electronic relay.  If we want to setting OCV up to 40A . How to calculate RTHRESHOLD?

    Hi Jason,

    I recommend to go for recent part LM5060 or LM5060-Q1.

    Coming to the calculations of RTHRESHOLD for LM9061-Q1
    1. First estimate max power you can dissipate with the chosen MOSFET (in the datasheet example, it is 20W assuming an attached heat sink)
    2. Calculate VDS(max) using Equation-2
    3. Use Equation (5) to calculate RTHR (take RREF = 15.4 kΩ; Isense as 10uA, Rsense=1kOhm, Vref=1.25V, ignore Vos it has less effect)
