BQ24076: BQ24076 Battery

Part Number: BQ24076

Hello, I have a few questions regarding the BQ24076 Battery Charger.

1) What voltage battery can I use with this chip. The datasheet says V_bat is 4.4V, but I'm not sure if V_bat is the constraint on the battery voltage or the voltage at which the IC charges the battery.

2) Can I use a 3V CR2032 coin cell battery or does it have to be a certain voltage?

3) Does the IC take care of full-charged and low-charged voltage since the CR2032 battery can range from 2.3-3.3V?

4) What is the output voltage? The datasheet has two ranges: Vout = V_bat and 3.41V. I'm not sure which is the actual output.

    1) What voltage battery can I use with this chip. The datasheet says V_bat is 4.4V, but I'm not sure if V_bat is the constraint on the battery voltage or the voltage at which the IC charges the battery.--Bill J -- V_bat is max voltage cell will be charged to and depends on chemistry of the battery. Match battery manufacture recommendations with charger.

    2) Can I use a 3V CR2032 coin cell battery or does it have to be a certain voltage? ---Bill J--see battery manufactured data sheet and recommended charging conditions.

    3) Does the IC take care of full-charged and low-charged voltage since the CR2032 battery can range from 2.3-3.3V?----Bill J. -- If that is the recommended range this may not be the correct charger.

    4) What is the output voltage? The datasheet has two ranges: Vout = V_bat and 3.41V. I'm not sure which is the actual output. ----Bill J. -- This will depend on the battery voltage, V_bat <3.2V it would be 3.41V, V_bat > 3.2V will be V_bat +210mV.
