UCD90124: PMBus power supply monitor

I'm looking for a PMBus power supply monitor that will allow me to monitor an AC-DC converter's operation status, voltage, temperature, warnings, etc. on the PMBus. I want to integrate this into an existing power supply design. Not looking for a PWM or buck controller with this feature, just the monitor. I suppose I could use the UDC90124A to provide some of this functionality but was wondering if there is a better solution that I have not been able to locate.

Thanks for posting! All of our UCD90XXX series digital controllers come with PMBus monitoring, its just a matter of how many rails you need monitored.

The UCD90124A may be overkill depending on how many rails you need to monitor. The UCD9090A is smaller is has more NV Fault logs. But any of the options in the search above (with the exception of the UCD9081) should come with PMBus monitoring.

Thanks for your quick reply. I do not need sequencing at all. Just the ability to provide the user monitoring of voltage, temperature, faults, etc. of an existing analog controlled power supply. Is the UCD9090A still the best option knowing this? Any reference designs other than the available evaluation kit?

Understood. The UCD9090A is the simplest device we have that comes with PMBus monitoring. If you don't need sequencing, it may well be overkill for what you are doing, but we don't have anything smaller or simpler.

As this device is a newer spin on an older device, there aren't many reference designs in the tools and software tab:

However, the older "non-A" version works very similar, if you want to try this EVM. You should even be able to swap out the old sequencer for a new one:
