TL598: TL598

Part Number: TL598

Dear,

we have been using the TL598QD for many years and we recognized now that is offered only commercial version with operation temperature 0°C to +70°C .We are able measure our electronics assembled by TL598CD in temperature  -40 °C and test tight function .

I have question. Why did you stop production QD version ? Was it  due small demand about this variant IC ? Can we presume that the production process this IC is still the same from beginning and due this our test in -40°C will be successful ?

Thank you.

Best regards

  • Hello Jaroslav,

It looks like the TL598Qd was dropped from the product portfolio when the data sheet was revised from Rev C to Rev D.

I cannot find the business reason for doing this. It was probably, as you say, the small demand and extra costs involved in testing over the extended temp range.

However the basic the chip used in the QD version was the same as your are now using in the CD version and both of these are SOIC packages.

I copied this table from Rev C data sheet and it shows this information.
