BQ24031-Q1: lowest threshold voltage

Part Number: BQ24031-Q1

Hi,

I have a question I would like clarified on the BQ24031-Q1; given that the AC in line cannot handle more than 16V DC, my intention is to use a regulator (TPS7B8250QDGNRQ1) prior, which can handle a wide input battery voltage range and feed 5V into the AC line as my primary power.

Given that the datasheet for the BQ24031-Q1 states that the AC in line accepts a voltage range between -0.3V to 18V (abs max), supplying it with a 5V supply should not pose any problems, can you confirm this? Also what would be the lowest threshold voltage on the AC line which will trigger the device to switch to the LiIon battery?

In the datasheet, the min value for Vcc is indicated as 4.35V. Does this indicate the device will switch to the LiIon battery below this value?

Many thanks for clearing this up for me.
