We have a question about TPS563210A and TPS54229.

We want to use Capacitor of Murata 0603 package.

Please tell us the recommended capacitor of Murata 0603 package for TPS563210A and TPS54229.

    Hi Takahiro,

    Are you using 0603 package cap for output cap? For 0603 cap, there should be not much selection for high cap value. I would recommend you to use 1206 or 1210 size. You will get higher cap value and better DC bias performance. If 0603 is must be chosen, cap with >1.5* Vout voltage rating and 10-22uF should be good. And the total output capacitance should be 22-44uF.

    Our customer uses the capasitor of 1608 size.
    But capacitor maker(Murata) demands customer to use 0603 sise.
    This cause may be a problem of supply.

    We found this capacitor.
    Can we use this capacitor?
    Please tell us your opinion.

    Hi, The link you provided is 22pF cap, I think it should be not the right P/N used for output cap. please double check.
    For you concern, it is easy to check, there is "Recommended Component Values" table (Table 4 for 563210, table 1 for 54229) for output LC filter design, you can follow the recommendations value to select L or C, 0603 cap can be used but you need check the "DC bias" curve to check the real cap value @Vout voltage, generally, under same specification, bigger size, better DC bias performance, anyway, ensure the total real value covered in the recommendation table.
