TPS2492: About TPS249x_8x_Design_Calculator and UVLO

Hi,

Could you tell me about TPS249x_8x_Design_Calculator ?
UVLO calculation result of the data sheet does not match TPS249x_8x_Design_Calculator UVLO result.
Please tell me the calculation formula of UVLO in the calculation tool.

  • Hi Yusuke-san,

    The typical values are calculated using equation 27 in the datasheet and then the min, max are calculated using the values in the EC table.

    For example, min value of upper UVLO threshold is 10.08*1.32/1.35 = 9.85

    →"Equation 27" is no description in the data sheet of TPS2492/3.
         Do you refer to the TPS 2490 data sheet?
         And Can I apply it to TPS2492?

    TPS2490 and TPS2492 have different EN threshold variations.

  • Hi Yusuke-san,

    Yes, you can apply. The design tool used values of TPS2490 as the typical values are same. You see there is 10mV difference in min, max values between TPS2490 and TPS2492 which translates to only 0.7% difference.

    I recommend to consider LM5069 device over TPS249x. LM5069 has strong 230mA pulldown current and offers fast response during short circuit fault.
