Hey,
we are working in a group of students, from the Technische Universität Berlin, on a battery project, using the LM350A for the battery charger.
We are using the circuit "5A Constant Voltage/Constant Current Regulator" from the datasheet (Fig.29).
The circuit is not running, as we would wish or expect.
For example:
With a battery load voltage of 3.5V, the battery current and the total input current of the circuit have almost the same value.
So we are losing about 90% of the electric Power from the 35V-Input to the battery (3.5V).
We do not understand this behavior of the circuit. So could you please give us some extra ducumentation for the circuit from the datasheet.
On more question:
Is it possible to replace the lm301 by the lm358. The special impact of the lm301 is also something we would like to understand better.
