BQ24298: US e-CFR regulation

Part Number: BQ24298

Hello.

Do you know the US e-CFR regulation? Is there any way to go through this regulation? Or can we ignore the regulations of the Scanner product used by the charger solution BQ24298?

Another currently used BQ24298 and Scanner product application class 1 or 2? Thanks for kindly help~

  • Hey AJ,

Can you elaborate on what scanner product you are referring to? The BQ24298 is just a battery charging IC, and the not a complete battery charging solution as defined by this US Code of Federal Regulations. Because of this, our customers are free to use any size battery within their end application, and the total yearly energy consumption will be a function of the battery itself PLUS the surrounding system energy energy consumption.

What we do offer in our datasheet is the quiescent current consumption of the battery in battery only mode which you may take into consideration for this energy consumption metric defined by the Code.

But we do not do compliance testing against this standard on our ICs. So I cannot comment on how to pass or go through this regulation and it really a function of your total system.

    Regards,

    Joel H
