I know that it might be a bit strange question, but what atmospheric pressure is it valid to use the LM10506 under?

Hi Brent,

I don't think we have any specification regarding atmospheric pressure. The packaging metrics (www.ti.com/.../spra953c.pdf) have a note that altitude is expected to impact the thermal resistance from package to ambient, but other than that I am not seeing anything specific regarding atmospheric pressure.

Is there any specific concern you have regarding atmospheric pressure impacting the IC?

HI Kevin,

I'm designing a product which is to be used by ordinary people.

This also includes use in airplanes.

The requirement is airpressure as low as 700HPa.

So I just wanted to be sure that I don't get into trouble, using the LM10506.

Hi Bent,

You should have no problem in such a case as long as you factor the thermal considerations of a lower ambient pressure for your system. TI ICs are used in planes (both by passengers and as part of the plane electronics!) every day.

I would have guessed that it was (at least) the industrial-grade version of the chip, and not the standard.
