The TPS65084x/94x family of devices features OTP (one-time programmable) memory which is programmed during the production of the chip. This memory serves several purposes, most notably the setting of default voltages and sequencing. Each different device in the family features a unique OTP. For example, the TPS650842 is the device within the TPS65084x family which is best optimized for the typical Intel Braswell platform. As we continue to develop this part, we may need to create additional OTPs, and hence additional part numbers, in order to meet market demands for a different configuration.
OTP programming is not configurable by the customer as it comes pre-defined on the part. In many cases, use of I2C communication can override the default values, allowing for easy adaption of a solution.
