LP5024EVM: LP5024 EVM GUI does not recognize USB2Any or LP5024; shows not connected

    When you use the GUI firstly time, please update the firmware first. May I know whether you find the pou up window during open the GUI?

No, there is no pop-up window. The GUI never even connects to the USB2Any or to the LP5024 EVM.

    When you plug in the USB2ANY and click LP5024 tag, the below window should be shown. Would you check the connection again?

I have checked the connections, and they are correct; see the photo I have attached. The firmware update dialog you mentioned *never* appears on my computer.  I installed the GUI software of a different computer, and the result is exactly the same; no firmware update dialog appears.

I am getting rather frustrated now, since I have had the EVM for several days and have made absolutely no progress. I would be  more than happy to hear any suggestions you may care to offer.

Hi Summer,

I tried that yesterday, but it did not work. I have wasted enough time trying to get this to work. I reluctantly spent more money today and ordered another LP5024EVM from Digikey for delivery tomorrow.

Who knows whether the new one will work. Even if it does, I doubt that I can recover my money from Digikey since the package deal has been opened. Overall, just a bad experience.

I’m not a happy camper, but I do appreciate your effort to support me.

I think the problem is USB2ANY board issue, since the EVM will not impact FW updating.
If the second one is still not working well, please send me eamil summer-su@ti.com.
I will help you on this.

I received my second LP5024EVM from Digikey today. I tried it while I was in my office at work today. Same result; no connection; no dialog about updating firmware.
So I took the kit home with me and installed the software on a computer at home. Same result; no success.

At this point, I have lost confidence in this product. Unless you have some further suggestions, I am inclined to cut my losses and move on to an alternate solution. I've spent over $300 and too much of my time.
