TPS2456A: Redundant Power Supply

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask TPS2456 and TPS2456A?

Our customer considers "Redundant Power Supply" on TPS2456EVM's document figure4.
And then, they would like to configure it without seamless voltage drop during output changing.
So, is it possbile to configure using TPS2456 or TPS2456A?
We don't have EVM and could not find these wave form on the datasheet.

Our customer's conditions are as follows;
-Main power : 12V
-Sub power : 12V or less than 12V
-Load : 1.5A

If TPS2456 and TPS2456A can't realize the customer's construction, could you let us know recomended device?

Thanks for reaching out!
Since the current levels are low, I would recommend to consider integrated solution TPS25942A.
Please refer Figure 74, Figure 84 in the datasheet and let me know your opinion.

Thank you for your reply.

It shows the voltage drop on the Figure.80 and Figure.81 during voltage changing.
In addition, on figure 85, it shows a little drop in case of changing.
That's why, we asked you whether TPS2456A or TPS2456 are fitable for the customer's request or not.
Could you let us know about the configuration with TPS2456A or TPS2456?

Hi Matsumoto-san,

The control implementation of TPS2456A is similar to TPS25942A, so, you can expect similar drop performance during change over. For seamless transition, linear ORing Controller such as TPS2410 is suitable.
