Dear All:

I use the BQ34Z100-G1 to measure the pack capacity, i have program the .Srec files into the BQ34Z100-G1, but the SOC indicator is instability , it can indicator 70% drop to 20% in the loading condition.

if you shut down the system, after 10 minutes the SOC indicator is normal with 70% What can cause the issue ?

What's your load? It might depend on the load select that you have used for the gauge? If you have a large load and the load select is 2 or 3 you can see such a drop.

Dear Batt :

the loading is motor driver , if i shut down the system, after 10 minutes the SOC can recover the normal with 70%. the customer experience is bad. can you help to solve this problem？ thanks~

Have you done a learning cycle? To use this gauge you need to program it correctly, identify your battery chemistry, do a learning cycle and then customize it for your load profile. Without that, a jump or jumps are inevitable.

Hi Bill,

That document only shows that you have calibrated it after flashing the fw and enabled IT. It doesn't show anywhere that you have programmed the correct chem ID. Without the correct chem ID, your DOD will be off and can give you errors. For performing chem ID matching, please see http://www.ti.com/tool/GPCCHEM

Hi Bill,

Thank you for attaching your calibration procedure for more details on the steps taken with your pack.

If this issue is not resolved and you're still having issues with the SOC, please attach a schematic of the system, gg.csv file and SREC file from before the SOC event occurs, a log file from bqStudio with all columns enabled of the event at 1 sec intervals, and a gg.csv and SREC file from after the SOC event occurs. More information on the cells and application loading would also be helpful.
