TPS22913: how does tON time change with CL=4.4uF?

Part Number: TPS22913
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS22916,

Dear all,

About TPS22913B, Could you teach me how does tON time change with CL=4.4uF?

At TPS22913B data sheet, there is the data with CL=0.1uF. If this CL become to 4.4uF, tON time will be 44 times? or not change so much?

For example, TPS22916 has the data as Figure 15.

It will be good that there are the graph about TPS22913B like TPS22916's.

Best regards,

  • Hi Yamamoto-san,

Increasing the load capacitance won't necessarily increase Ton with a 1:1 ratio. As you can see from the TPS22916 Figure 15, increasing the load capacitance from 0.1uF to 10uF changes Ton slightly, but not 100X.

In general, increasing the load capacitance increases tdelay and the inrush current. The main factors that increase turn on time are the slew rate, load resistance, and input voltage levels. For more information on specifications that could affect your turn-on time, please refer to our Timing of Load Switches app note.

The best way to determine the turn-on time of the TPS22913 is to evaluate on an EVM. Depending on your configuration, the turn on time can vary based on the conditions described above.

    Thanks,
