Dear team,

Could you please help recommend a backlight driver for my customer? Thank you.

Requirement:

1. Vin: 3.7 (min),4.2(max)

2. Vout: larger 3.2V (please check attachment of 1.5 inch display backlight)

3. LED string: 1S3P

4. LED current per string: 20mA

Thanks for your reply.

Because customer Vin is 3.7V, Vout is ~3.2V. So it looks like we shoud use buck topology. But I saw LP8863-Q1's minimum output voltage is 7V. Is that still suitable for this application? Besides, my customer did not need Q-grade. Thank you.

Hi Polly,
I'm sorry that we don't have a buck led backlight driver as you need , but I can recommend a flash driver for you, flash driver can work with torch mode which is very similiar with backlight driver. And it can work under bypass mode( is similiar with buck mode). So how about this solution? You can check LM36010/LM36011, LM3648 and so on. BTW, what' s your spec about dimming method? (I2C? PWM?) And it would be better for more application specs. Thanks.
