TPS7A45: Negative output when TPS7A45 is disabled.

Part Number: TPS7A45

Hi, my design with TPS7A45 is as following.

But when Pin1 is LOW to disable TPS7A45, the output is around -0.5V. I also tried to put 500 Ohm at pin4 to provide load, but doesn't make any improvement.

How to prevent negative output when TPS7A45 is disabled?

Thank you.

  • Hi Shiwei,

The TPS7A45 does not have any negative internal supply rails, so the lowest output voltage it can hold is 0 V. When the LDO is in shutdown mode, the pass FET is floating, so there is likely another component connected to the output rail that is capable of holding it down to -0.5 V. Try isolating the TPS7A45 output from any other loads and check if this problem still occurs.

    Thanks,
    Gerard
  • Hi Shiwei,

Since it has been a couple weeks without a reply, I assume this issue is resolved. If not, you can respond at any time.
