BQ3050: bq3050 BootROM mode and .senc file

Part Number: BQ3050

Hi,

I wanted to access the .senc file for bq3050. Therefore, I used the bootROM mode (0x0f00 command) in order to download the .senc file.

Following that I loose communication access to my battery after refreshing and cannot regain access with the 0x08 command that I found in the forum to unable bootROM mode.

Could you help me how I can reestablish communication?

Also, is there a way to actually read the encrypted .senc file? I wanted to find and confirm the used ChemID of our device.

Thanks so much in advance,

Sabrina

  • Hi Sabrina,

Please check if the device is still in ROM mode by doing a read word of 0x0d:

If the returned value is greater than 0x100, then it is still in ROM mode.

In this case, you can try issuing the 0x08 command once more and reading 0x0d to see if it can exit ROM mode.

Otherwise, please use the "Flash Memory" menu to upload the senc and post it so that we can check if anything is wrong with the senc file.

Unfortunately the senc file is encrypted and it contains proprietary information that can not be opened up.

    Regards,

    Swami
