TPS51275: What's the different with TPS51275 with TPS51225?

Part Number: TPS51275
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS51225,

Hi Sir,

I have some questions of TPS51275 and TPS51225.

1. May I know what's the biggest difference between TPS51225 and TPS51275?
I only saw the Vin(min.) and duty cycle are different.

2. Why does it show TPS51275 can regulate 4 output and Iout(max) is 20A on the website?
On the datasheet, the TPS51275 as same as TPS51225 only can regulate 2 output number and the gate driver ability or OCP parameter are the same.

3. Which device I could use?
    For 5V, Iout(max) = 16.82A
    For 3.3V, Iout(max) = 14.71A

  • Hi Teresa,

1, the main difference between TPS51275 and TPS51285 is min input voltage. And TPS51275 has on time extension function, while TPS51225 doesn't have.

2, TPS51275 only regulate 2 output. please refer datasheet.

3, if your min-input voltage is below 6V, it's suggested to use TPS51275. if your min-input voltage is above 6V, both parts can be used.

Actually, because TPS51275 has on time extension function, so it can support smaller input voltage. while TPS51225 min input voltage is larger than TPS51275. others function are all same.

    best regards,

    Edwin.

  • Hi Edwin,
    Thanks for your reply.
