CSD95378BQ5M: EN and VDD: Drive requirement and logic 1 level

Part Number: CSD95378BQ5M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV760

Hi,

Please let me know what is drive current requirement for VDD and EN pins.

Also provide me the logic 0 and 1 voltage levels for EN pins. I checked the datasheet and they are not provided.

I have a 12V supply input. Can I provide 5V to VDD using a resistor divider of 7K and 5K resistors? Will that work? Will the drive be sufficient?

  • Hi Kiran VG,

Thanks for your interest in the CSD95378BQ5M.

The enable pin logic levels are greater than 2V for logic high and less than 0.8V for logic low.  The EN pin has a 100kOhm (nominal) pull-down resistor that determines the drive requirement for that pin.

For VDD, the drive requirement is determined by your switching frequency.  As an example, at 500kHz, the drive current requirement is ~30mA.  It rises to 55mA at 1MHz.  It is essentially linear, so you can use those 2 data points to scale to your operating condition.  As you can see, with this type of drive current requirement, you will require a very low impedance drive for 5V.  You might consider an LDO such as the TLV760 to generate the 5V supply from your 12V input or search TI.com for another suitable solution once you've determined the drive requirement for your application.

    Regards,

    Evan
