TPS63061: Can tantalum output capacitors be used instead of ceramic?

Since there is a worldwide critical shortage of large-value ceramic caps. We currently use a pair of 47µF 25V ceramic output caps in our TPS63061 implementation, plus a third one at a remote location, which is switched by a MOSFET.  I would like to know if conventional (not polymer) tantalum caps can be used as a substitute.  We can’t use polymer due to high leakage and its effect on battery life. The ones I’m looking at have ESR on the order of 600mΩ and a surge current limit of 4.8A. Would this regulator function with 300mΩ of ESR?

    The device is designed for the use with ceramic output capacitors. This means that the compensation of the feedback loop is optimized for the low ESR capacitors which makes it most probable instable when used with capacitors that have a very high ESR.

    A possible solution might be to use one ceramic cap and one tantalum cap, but I did not check which capacitance on the ceramic cap is the minimum necessary one for this use case. To limit the test cases, it would be interesting to know if there are ceramic medium-value ceramic caps, the customer would want to use for such a case.
