Please also note that the information on the ti.com about the LM309 is conflicting and incorrect. On ti.com, the title of the product page and the parametric table show the part as being 3A. The datasheet is correct in showing the part is only 1A. We are working on correcting the website.

We have new questions about LM109K.

Question 1.
In datasheet p.4 "Current Limit Characteristics (Note 5)"
Output current is 1.9A When Tj is 150℃.
Is this data correct?
WE concerned about your answer. LM109 of output current is 1A.

Question 2.
Please tell us the difference between LM109K and LM109k STEEL.

Hey Nishizawa-san,

Q1: Yes that is correct. The Current Limit is placed higher than the MAX Current of the device.

Current Limit is around 1.9 A depending on temperature

MAX Current is 1 A.

Q2:

The difference between the LM109K and LM109K STEEL is the STEEL version is slightly taller.

To expand on Daniel's answers:
The LM109/LM309 maxiumum current varies and depends upon operating conditions as shown in the Current Limit plot on page 5 of the datasheet. The parametric table shows the conditions under which the part is tested. As can be seen from the notes, the different parameters are tested under different load conditions (0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 A depending upon the test).
The LM109 and LM309 have the same current limit; the LM309 has lower accuracy and temperature range.

In the TO-3 package, we only offer "K Steel" package and the dimensions are as shown in the "Order now" tab of the product page:

At one time, we offered a mil grade part in a "K" package that had a shorter lid, but that product is no longer offered.
