TPS2559-Q1: Reverse Current Blocking

Part Number: TPS2559-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2561A-Q1, TPS2559, TPS2561

Hello,

At the top of the datasheet, it lists the chip has reverse current blocking when disabled.  It does not have any mention elsewhere in the document and I would like more information.  Based on the functionally block diagram it looks like the reverse blocking is from not having a body diode between out and in of the internal n-channel mosfets, not back-to back mosfets..  It looks like this in many other diagrams such as TPS2561, TPS2561A-Q1, TPS2559(Not Q1).  Do those also have reverse current blocking when disabled?

Thank You,
Brian

  • Hi, Brian,

All those part have reverse current blocking when disabled, because the power FET of those part are back to back FET, not single FET without body diode. The block diagram just to show a rough overall structure of part.

    Regards,
