BQ25120A: /CD pin control and PMID

Part Number: BQ25120A

Hi Team,

Please help to confirm some PMID application.

1. If VIN is 5V, /CD pull low for battery charge, is PMID also 5V?

2. If no VIN, /CD pull low(Hi-Z mode), BAT=4V, is PMID 4V or 0V?

3. If no VIN, /CD pull high(Active Battery mode), BAT=4V, is PMID 4V or 0V?

Thanks

  • Daniel,

When VIN is present, /CD is only charge enable or disable. PMID will be supplied by VIN.

When VIN is not present, /CD is Active BAT or HiZ selection. PMID will be supplied by VBAT. The difference between Active BAT and HiZ is that you can change registers on I2C only on Active BAT mode.

PMID will be 0V only in Ship Mode when VBAT is present.

    regards,
