LMC7660: Difference to TL7660

Part Number: LMC7660
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL7660, LM2776

Hi,

Can you please tell me the difference between LMC7660 and TL7660? If there is no major difference which one of those parts seems to have a longer availability or is more common?
Which one would TI recommend for a new design?
I'm aware of the newer parts like the LM2776 but we have an expected higher input voltage of around 6.5V.

Thanks and best regards,

Patrick

  • Hi Pruf,

These are closely related devices, and the TL7660 looks newer than LMC7660 according to their release date, but it was developed before TI acquired National Semi, so we cannot say it is a direct improved version of the LMC7760. However, if you comparing the two datasheets, the TL7660 has slightly lower internal impedance, and hence higher efficiency, and lower Vout drop vs load. But basic performance can be seen similar.

We don't have plan of obsolete either device, so you can choose either one.

    Thanks,
