TPS3808G01DBVEVM: latchup in TPS3808G01MDBVTEP

Part Number: TPS3808G01DBVEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS3808-Q1, TPS3808

Did the part pass latch up testing.  Electrically or by radiation ?

  • Munir,

Please describe what you mean by latch up testing. The device has been extensively tested and does not latch up assuming operating at recommended conditions. The testing does not include radiation. The device does not have latching capability but you can add additional components to create a latching solution. This latching solution is outline in this TechNote: www.ti.com/.../snva836.pdf

  • Have th part gone thru JESD78 or AEC-Q100 qualifications. Many of TI parts show passing the AEC-Q100 qualifications which means passing electrical latchup. I need to know if the part pass electrical latchup
  • Munir,

All TI devices with "Q1" in the part name has passed all automotive qualifications which includes JESD78 and AEC-Q100. TPS3808-Q1 has passed these tests. Please let me know if you have additional questions. Thank you!

  • Michael, But this is not the Q1 version. The part number is TPS3808G01MDBVTEP. Is this not qualified for automotive?
  • Munir,

My apologies. There is a commercial version, TPS3808, and there is an automotive version, TPS3808-Q1 that passes stricter testing in order to get qualified. To simply the qualifications for every device at TI, TI provides a Qualification summary in which the User simply types in the TI part number for a specific device, and the qualification summary is shown. Please see link below for the Qualification Summary link.

To answer your question, TPS3808G01DBVT is qualified under several stress tests and for the Latch-Up stress test (LU), the device is qualified according to JESD78. There is no AEC-Q100 qualification as this is for the automotive version TPS3808-Q1.

Please feel free to follow the link about and enter in the devices in which you are curious about. If you have any additional questions or need additional information please let me know.
