UCC28950: Question about ADEL pin input from VREF

About application note sluc560c, schematic (Figure-1) is connecting ADEL to VREF (with divider resister).

Is this schematic operate protection function normally? (For example, overcurrent, and the other) 

If there any risk for the condition of ADEL connect not CS but VREF, please let me know.
