TIDA-01495- Fuse and MOV rating for American Standard

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-01495

Hi Everyone,

This TIDA-01495 model rated as universal power supply. But my doubt is what if need design to work in American standard like 110VAC whether the protection circuit like Fuse and MOV need to change ?

If my maximum cutoff is 120VAC then how to select the Fuse and MOV?

And what if use 110VDC instead of 110VAC ,what are all the section to be taken care of ?

Please advise.

  • Hi Balasubramani,

All components in the protection circuit should be UL listed per the safety standard applicable for the product. Generally we take care to use components that are safety rated in our designs, even though they are not safety certified. Still, it is good to check against your product safety requirements. Since 240V input has higher safety requirements, the components that meet requirements for 240Vac will be mostly good at 110Vac or DC.

    Regards,
