TLC5917: How to Read the Error Status in Special Mode / Going in and out of Normal Mode

Hello,

We are using the TLC5917 and wondering if there is additional documentation available on how to read the error status in special mode for the TLC5917?

The waveforms in the datasheet aren’t completely clear for how to go from normal mode to special mode, read the error status, and then go back to normal mode in one sequence. Each of the three steps is shown individually, but not as one large operation.

Would you happen to have some example source code, that would be even more helpful if it’s available.

Hi Keller,

Sorry we have no example code for this device. Actually you just need send two commands. Firstly, send either one in figure 16 depending on the following command. Secondly, send the command.

Take read the Error Status for example, I will suggest to program as below,

step1: sequence as the left one in figure 16, page 19 of the datasheet.

step2: sequence as the figure 17,page 20 of the datasheet.

Then the Error Status will be shifted out from the SDO.
