TPS259824OEVM: Different question

Part Number: TPS259824OEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS25982

Hello,

I have questions about the TPS25982 component.

First, does it exist any calcul to define the delay between two retry ( For the "RETRY_DLY" capacitor)?

And have you a formula too define the number of retry ?  In the specification, it's not clear.

My last question is about the product status and when will it be available?

Thanks

  • Hi Pierre,

    Welcome to E2E!
I will get back to you on your questions. Meanwhile, can you share your application use case and specifications.

    Best Regards,
    Rakesh
  • Hi Rakesh,

    Thanks for your answers!

I need this component too protect a power supply converter and motor control against Inrush Current and current overshoot during motor start up !

Continuously, I have a consumption of 5A max with 7A peak.
But i don't know the number of retry and the delay for the moment .

    Regards,

    Pierre
  • Hi Pierre,

Thanks for the information on your use case.

For TPS25982x device, the CNRETRY and CRETRY_DLY capacitor combination decides the "Number of Retries" and "Auto Retry Delay time".
We are working on the design calculator to release along with the product. So, for the time, Table 3. in the datasheet provides guidelines.

For example, 10nF for CNRETRY and 10nF for CRETRY_DLY gives you 4 "Number of Retries" and "Auto Retry Delay time" of 416 ms.

    Best Regards,
    Rakesh
