TPS92513HV: clarification on the Datasheet and Cout

Hi team,

a customer of mine is trying to use the TPS92513HV for a project. We do have a few doubts still:

- the curves presented at page 20 of the DS are referring to the parameters obtained in the previous pages, like from page 17 and on? Specifically I'm referring to the Cout=4,7uF.

- we need to obtain a dimming of 0,4% @200hz; the current of the 5LEDs at 700mA needs to go to regime with this duty cycle. This is done in order to avoid deviation in color of the LEDs.

-which could be the minimum Coutthat allows the system to start quickly enough and guarantee sucha s mall duty cycle?

Hello Adrian,

Please read 9.1.3. Cout needs to be 10X Cboot. If you need to have less output capacitor there are other parts that do not require an output capacitor. They hysteretic parts such as the TPS92515 or LM3409 do this well.

thanks for the clarification. Is there a minimum value of Cout, below which it's not recommend to go?

Hello Adrian,

Cout needs to be 10 times the value of Cboot, that is the minimum. You can go less but start-up may be delayed, PLEASE READ 9.1.3 in the datasheet. If that doesn't work then other parts should be looked at as stated above.
