Part Number: TPS62175

Hello

I have a question about tps 6215.
For details, please see the attached document.

Thank you.

  • Hi Ishii-san,

Thank you for attaching the report of the issue. Did the EVM work normally with the good/normal/initial unit? Can you add this unit back to the EVM and see if the EVM still works? Some passive may have been damaged when replacing the IC.

For a failing unit, can you send a waveform of Vin, Vout, SW, and inductor current?

What does the same waveform look like at no load?

Finally, can you send a picture of each IC, to see the date codes/markings?
  • Hello.

    thank you for your answer.

Regarding TPS62175EVM, the upper waveform attached in the last email is the waveform of the IC mounted in the initial EVM purchased.
    I think normal operation.

Waveforms in the middle and lower rows are boards created by us and abnormalities in the operation of TPS62175 were measured and replaced by TI's EVM.
As a result, it became an abnormal waveform in the same way.

    date codes
    sample # 1: 82 AD 49 I / B 18 - 02 00
    sample # 2: 7AC 0 RY I / B 18 - 0 246

Regarding the waveform, it takes a while.

    Thank you.

  • Hi Ishii-san,

    Thank you for explaining.

I understand that the EVM worked initially. Then, you replaced the IC with 2 samples and it did not work. Where were these 2 samples from?

As well, please retest the first (working) IC on the same EVM, to make sure that it still works.

Those date codes are not in the usual format. Are they from the reel that the parts were on? Is it possible to send photos of the top sides of all 3 ICs?
  • Hello.

    Thank you for your support.

I will send you a picture of the TOP sides with regard to the operation abnormality IC.

    Thank you.

  • Hi Ishii-san,

    Thank you for sending.

Please retest the original, working unit on the EVM to make sure that it still works. If it does, please start a quality return of these 2 units.

Are there other units, besides those 3, that were tested? How many were good or bad?
  • Hello

    thank you for your answer.

In the current development, each one in sample 1 and sample 2 cases.
The model developed last year uses the same circuit.
The result of examining the failed device.
    Sample 1: 2 piece
    Sample 2: 1 piece
    It has come out.

Can you please ask for quality of your company?

    Thank you.

  • Hi Ishii-san,

Your distributor should know how to begin a quality return.

I don't quite understand your failure quantity. How many units exhibit this behavior? How many used were tested?
