LM2841YMK-ADJEV: LM2841YMK-ADJL

Part Number: LM2841YMK-ADJEV
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM2841

Dear Sir.

I designed a board with LM2841 as the 3.3v power supply.

While debugging , I raised the output of the power supply from 12v to 24v and it works fine.

Once I tried to turn the board on with 24v  , The LM2841 blew / burned .

D29 , D6 are bot installed.

  • Hi,

It could be due to transient at your input voltage, when you turn on the power supply directly especially with long wires, there is a probability of a transient there. You can try to turn on with 12V and see if there is any spike at the input.
I would installed an aluminium electrolytic capacitor at the input to damp the ringing or some kind of limiter at the input to limit the input voltage below the abs max of the device

    Thanks
