TPS51604-Q1: mode transition condition (FCC mode <-> very-low-power mode)

Please tell us the mode transition condition. FCCMVLPM. In FCCM, /SKIP = H and PWM = L are set. If /SKIP input voltage is changed from H to 1.6V, will the mode change from FCCM to VLPM? (PWM remains fixed at L.) If /SKIP input voltage is returned from 1.6V to H, will the mode change from VLPM to FCCM? (PWM remains fixed at L.) Or does it need to control PWM?

Hello,

Based on the information on section 7.3.3 and table 1 on datasheet page 12, if SKIP pin is tri-state (1.6V), the part will enter very low power mode.
The SKIP pin needs to be pulled low first to exit very low power mode.

Does not it need to control PWM?
The data sheet has the following description, "When both SKIP and PWM are tri-stated, ..."

The description is not very clear.
Please refer to table 1. When SKIP is tristate, the part enter very low power mode whatever PWM is.

When SKIP is pulled low, the part exit very low power mode whatever PWM is ?
and how long is the SKIP=L required, to exit very low power mode ?

Yes, the part will exit very low power mode when SKIP is pulled from tristate to low, whatever PWM is.

As long as SKIP is pulled low to ground, it will exit low power mode. It don't need SKIP pin stay low for some time.
