TPS7A52-Q1: Accuracy deviation over age

Part Number: TPS7A52-Q1

Hello,

I saw on the datasheet of the TPS7A52-Q1 that the deviation of the accuracy of the output voltage (without bias and between -40°C and +125°C) is -1% and +1%.

I would like to know if it includes ageing.

Thanks,

Nerea

  • Hi Nerea,

Unlike voltage references, linear regulators are not designed, tested, or characterized for how the output voltage will drift over time. However, we perform reliability testing on our products before we release the product family to market following industry standards. The reliability testing includes acceleration testing. You can learn more about our reliability testing here:

  • Hi Ryan,

Thank you for your fast replay. Where can I find the results of these reliability tests for TPS7A52-Q1 ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Nerea

  • Hi Nerea,

Our publicly available reliability results are actually located at the Reliability Homepage that I sent you in my previous response.  You would simply need to type in your part number(s) if accessing the results through that method.

A potentially quicker way to access the same information is to go though the Quality & packaging tab of your intended part's product folder:

  • Hello Ryan,

Thanks for your reply. I've got one more question.

Which components or signals inside TPS deviate to have 1% accuracy at the output? (VFB, AOP..?)

I would like to know each components' influence in order to have the best accurate output or to forecast the errors' origins.

    Thanks in advance,

    Nerea

  • Hi Nerea,

It is important to understand that the accuracy specification covers all internal circuitry over the specified test conditions. We do not have the accuracy specification broken down by each internal block. The primary source of inaccuracy for a linear regulator is the internal reference.

Not included in the accuracy specification is the accuracy of the external components including the resistor divider. The following application reports describe and show examples of how to account for the resistor divider when calculating the overall application accuracy.
