TPS650250: How to measure frequency response for DCDCx

Part Number: TPS650250

Hi team,

The customer wants to measure frequency response with FRA for DCDCx. But, when the output voltage is set by default, no requires feedback resistor divider outside of IC. For that case, how to measure the frequency response with FRA? FRA manual describes proving is close to the feedback resistor, but nothing of the outside of IC. Or if you can disclose some functional block diagram, it helps the customer design. Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Takeshi Sasaki

  • Hello Sasaki-san,

This has been assigned to the applications specialist for this device who is out today on business travel. He will provide and update early next week on this topic or when he can respond. Thank you for your patience.
  • Sasaki-san,

You can use the TPS650250EVM-447 to measure this performance. The EVM already has pads for external resistors to set DCDC1 and DCDC2 output manually. DCDC3, LDO1 and LDO2 are already set externally such that VDCDC3=1.2V, VLDO1=2.5V (R18 & R19) and VLDO2=1.4V (R16 & R17). For the DC-DC converters, DEFDCDC1-3 becomes the Feedback pin (FB) that you can use in your measurement as long as the DEFDCDCx pin is not shorted directly to VIN or GND.
