BQ25895EVM-664: BQ25895

Part Number: BQ25895EVM-664
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25895

Hi.
I am currently using the bq25895 EVM.
I will connect the bq25895 to the solar panel.

If you want to connect the solar panel to VBUS input voltage,
As a result of testing the EVB, we confirmed that when the input power is connected to VBUS, the voltage of the VBUS input power source is output without boosting to 5V at the PMID terminal.
When VBUS input power is removed, it is confirmed that the power of Batterty is boosted to 5V.

Even if power is applied to the VBUS input terminal, if you want to supply the PMID by boosting the battery power,
What should I do?

  • Hi,

Referring to 8.2.5 Boost Mode Operation from Battery on page 19 of the d/s, the boost operation can be enabled if the conditions are valid:

    1. BAT above BATLOWV
    2. VBUS less than BAT+VSLEEP (in sleep mode)
    3. Boost mode operation is enabled (OTG pin HIGH and OTG_CONFIG bit =1)
    4. Voltage at TS (thermistor) pin is within range configured by Boost Mode Temperature Monitor as configured by BHOT and BCOLD bits
    5. After 30 ms delay from boost mode enable

    Thanks,

    Ning.
