TPS61031: Input voltage range

The schematic shows the output voltage is set to 3.3V.
What's the input voltage range do you need?

Input voltage is 1.8V to 3.6V

My doubt is will it work at 3.6V input.

Yes. It will keep working when vin is higher than the setting Vout. The device stops switching so vout equals vin minus voltage drop of the high side mosfet.
Do you want there is no output voltage if vin is higher than 3.3V? You can pull down EN pin.

when i have checked in webench it's not taking the 3.6V as max input voltage.

As per datasheet in page6 it's mentioned that TPS61031 Vin is 1.8V-2.4V, as per graph also it's approx 3.3V
But regulator is a boost converter, then how it works as buck also, then is it buck boost regulator?

In my design i am using 3.6V battery.

I am little bit confused just clarify me.
I want to go for production with this design.

Hi Bapuji,

Do you mean figure 4 on page 6. That's just a efficiency curve at specific conditions, such as 1.8V and 2.4V. The device input voltage range is 1.8V to 5.5V, shown on page 5 EC tables.
If you are using a 3.6V battery, why you choose the boost converter? I don't understand because your desired output voltage is 3.3V?
What the battery voltage range and Vo, load current?

Hi Bapuji,

No. This is a boost converter and needs input voltage less than output voltage. When vin is in the range of 1.8V to 3.3V, vout will be regulated at 3.3V. When Vin is in the range of 3.3V to 5.5V, Vo equals vin-voltage drop of inside diode. Voltage drop of diode depends on value of load current.
You can share your working conditions requirement, such as vin range, vo, Io, so that I can find an appropriate device for you.

I think Bapuji may need a socket with "Down convertion mode", like TPS61099, TPS61020.
It could regulate the Vout even Vin little higher than Vout.

I am giving Input voltage is 3.6V Battery which is variable. when Battery voltage goes to low to ~3V then also output voltage 3.3V should not change.

Can you suggest part which will work as Buck Boost converter, input voltage is 1.8V to 4.2 but out voltage 3.3V is fixed.

Input Voltage : 1.8V - 4.2V (Battery)
Output Voltage : 3.3V
