Question of eFuse and load SW

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61291, TPS22954, TPS22916, TPS22918

We have question about eFuse or load SW.

Please check the attached document.

Do you know good solution?

We want to detect the input voltage of TPS61291 by using eFuse or load SW.

But we can not use auto-retry mode by customer's request.

We are concerned about the auto-retry under the following conditons.

situation 1. voltage drop by over load

situation 2. IC is shutdown by EN-low or UVLO after situation 1.

situation 3. IC operates again by EN-High when voltage and current return to normal.

We check the TPS25940L and TPS22954.

But we are concerned about the above situation.

Please show us the recommended IC or solution.

Takahiro Nishizawa

  • Hi Takahiro Nishizawa,

The lowest input voltage that our efuse devices can support is 2.5V.
I will loop in our Load Switch team to see if they can support your requirement.
  • Hi Takahiro,

Thanks for reaching out on E2E!

You could connect a resistor divider on the enable pin of our load switch to turn off the device when the battery voltage is less than 0.9V. We don't have any load switches with auto-retry or advanced protection features such as OVP, but a device such as the TPS22916 or the TPS22918 could work here.

    What are your thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Arthur Huang
