TPS7A7300: Max output w/ ANY-OUT

Part Number: TPS7A7300
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7A84A

Hello,

Section 8.2.2.1 of the datasheet says grounding all of the ANY-OUT pin sets the output to 3.65V.

However, the note on Page.17 says to not use ANY-OUT pins for output voltages greater than 3.5V.

Which advice is accurate?

Thank you,
Ryan B.

  • Hi Ryan,

These two statements are both correct. If all of the ANYOUT pins are tied to GND, then the output voltage will be set to 3.65 V; however, the performance of the regulator may or may not be outside of the performance depicted in the Electrical Characteristics table when using the ANYOUT feature for output voltages above 3.5 V.

Please note that for a 3 A regulator, we would recommend TPS7A84A. TPS7A84A has an ANYOUT network that is designed, tested, and characterized for output voltages up to 3.95 V.

    Very Respectfully,
    Ryan
