TPS61181A: LED Driver

Hi,

I am using TPS61181A driver for driving 6 LED string in parallel (1 LED in each string) with IF = 20mA in each string and VF = 3.3V.

The input supply voltage is 19V and the required output is 3.3V.

Whether the driver supports the output of 3.3V?

If the driver is enough to support 3.3V, what will be the output voltage for sort circuit condition, single string open condition and entire strings open condition?

Hi Divya,
I'm sorry that TPS61181A is a boost LED driver, it can't support 1LED with 19V input volatge. You need to make sure the LED forward voltage of each string is larger than the input voltage.

Can You suggest a LED driver that supports 6 LED string in parallel (1 LED in each string) with IF = 20mA in each string and VF = 3.3V (i.e)Vout of 3.3V with short-circuit and open-circuit fault detection feature

Hi Divya,
Sure, can you provide more specs for your application, what't the input volatyge range? and what kind of dimming method? maxiumum current for each string? package? And special demand?

Hi,
Input Voltage Range - 5V to 19V
Output Voltage Range - 3.3 to 3.6
Dimming Method - PWM dimming
Max.current in each string - 20mA
Special feature - Over-voltage detection, short-circuit detection and Shutdown feature to when the driver is not in use.

Hi Sean,
We have selected TPS60255 Driver.
Please suggest whether the driver will be suitable for input supply 5V and output of 3.3V to drive 6 string LEDs in parallel (1 LED in each string)
Give your valuable suggestions for the drivers with output of 3.3V with over voltage and short-circuit protection feature
