TPS706: Reverse current and dropout

Hi 

1) Can the reverse current protection work even when the input is shorted suddenly? It looks that the internal comparator controls that function. I wonder if the comparator can work correctly at Vin=0V?
2) Do you have the plot data of dropout vs load current for TPS706 like TPS7A05’s below? I can’t find it on the datasheet..

    Yes the reverse current protection is designed to operate when Vout is greater than 1.8 V any time that Vin is less than Vout; however, please keep in mind that the reverse current protection circuitry must first detect and engage before the reverse current will be limited.  In addition, the following thread may be of interest to you when considering reverse current scenarios with TPS706:
