LP8758-E0: Vout changes from 0.9V to 0.83V

Part Number: LP8758-E0
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP8758-E3

Hello

our customer use LP8758-E3 ,  Vin=3.3V; Vout0 =0.9V,   when the output current changes from 1.5A to 1.8A suddenly,  the Vout0 changes from 0.9V to 0.83V.

is there any suggestions on this issue?

Thanks

  • Hi, Jesse,
It's about transient load solution. there are 3 ways you can do:
    1. Add more capacitance at the load point if the current change is in very short time; longer time needs bigger caps; lower ESR caps (like 3 terminal caps) are better.
    2. If more capacitance can't help much because the higher current lasts too long, then making the path (PCB trace) from the PMIC output to the load much stronger for much lower DCR.
    3. In case the feedback is not used for remote sense, then making it to sense the output change remotely at the load point.
