TPS63002: Need buck-boost with I2C output configurability

What do you recommend for a buck-boost regulator with I2C capabilities for adjusting the voltage outputs.

VIN range of 1.8 – 5.5V

Variable Vout range 3.3 – 5.5V

Iout: <2A

Maybe there is another way to change the voltage output if we have no I2C parts?

Hello Josh,

At the moment we do not have a buck-boost converter that has an I2C interface.

A possibility to change the output voltage of a buck-boost converter is to add a DC voltage to the feedback node. This reference design is using this method:

TPS63802 could be a good candidate for your request.

Hello Josh,

Manipulating the feedback node is possible for all converters that have a feedback node. Nevertheless, it is necessary to check it out in detail because this manipulation could cause regulation issues because the control loop that is added in addition to the already existing control loop(s) could cause some instabilities in the system.

A general rule would be to make the added control loop slow compared to the converter control loop.
