TPS7A4701-EP: Current limit behavior

Hi Team,

A customer I'm supporting has inquired  regarding the behavior of the device when operating in current limit mode.

To my memory, we provided similar details for the TPS7A3301 as the over current limit values weren't shown on the datasheet. Can we provide the same graphs for the TPS7A4701?

Also, when characterizing the device, are the tests done using the EVM or some other method? How long can the device sustain maximum current limit before thermal protection is engaged?

    Hey Carlos,

    What behavior are they specifically asking about?

    The characterization for the current limit was not done on the EVM, however my tests were.

    The amount that the device can sustain the maximum current limit is dependent on the thermals of the design as what will matter is how long the device takes to get to the thermal protection.
