LM25117-Q1: Quiescent current variation with temperature

Hi,

LM25117-Q1 datasheet provides Ishutdown (VIN shutdown current) on junction temperature 25ºC (typical) and 125ºC (Maximum). Refer above snapshot.

Request you to please provide Ishutdown (VIN shutdown current) value i.e. Quiescent current on junction temperature 80ºC and 90ºC.

If possible, please provide graph of quiescent current with temperature, else some actual test measured data.

Can you order an EVM and evaluate the shutdown current at 90C junction temp ?
If you are looking for lower shutdown current then my recommendation will be to choose newer devices like LM5141 or LM5145 .

Hi Ambreesh,

We need data from TI regarding the quiescent current at these temperatures.

Request you to please provide measured or calculated data for `n` samples.

Can we linearly extrapolate this value i.e. Iq=16uA @ Tj=25°C and Iq=40uA @ Tj=125°C as per datasheet. So by finding the slope of this linearly, can we assume the value of Iq at required Tj?

The 40uA max spec also includes guardbanding. We're checking our 125degC data now and will get back to you within the next few days.

We need data for Tamb= 80,90,100°C.

Can you please test/calculate data for different ambient temperature on `n` samples to verify the data.

Hi Jignesh,

Our ATE data indicates that the shutdown current is lower at hot than at room temperature. Average at 25degC and 125degC is 16.2uA and 11.4uA, respectively. You can interpolate this to get the current at the required temperatures.
